The April 2010 issue of Turnaround & Workouts (subscription required) reports a noticeable drop in bankruptcy filings in the first quarter of 2010 compared to the same period a year ago–no company with more than $1 billion in assets has sought Chapter 11 protection. T&W reports that large corporate bankruptcies–those with more than $100 million in assets–also fell from 74 during the first quarter of 2009 to 34 during the same period this year.
