Vinson & Elkins might be riding high from its recent work handling two major airline mergers. Still, the firm’s bread and butter continues to come from its high-volume energy practice. The latest of these deals: V&E is representing private equity giant TPG Capital in a $900 million acquisition of the Minnesota oil and gas assets of Marathon Oil.
M&A partner Keith Fullenweider is leading a team from the firm that includes environmental partner Larry Nettles, employee benefits partner Brian Bloom, labor and employment partner Thomas Wilson, real estate partner Jason Myers, IP partner Peter Mims, M&A partner Edward Stockbridge, and finance counsel Robert Nash.
