On October 12 Steptoe & Johnson prevailed in its legal battle with burger joint Rogue States when D.C. superior court judge John Mott ruled that the cooking smells emanating from the eatery’s kitchen were a nuisance, and ordered the restaurant to cease grilling immediately. In practical terms, Mott’s ruling shut the place down.
