Alston & Bird has added JOSEPH LIEBESCHUETZ as a partner in the firm’s biotechnology and pharmaceutical patent practice. Based in Silicon Valley, Liebeschuetz has a Ph.D. in genetics and represents clients in global patent prosecution. He was previously with Townsend and Townsend and Crew.

King & Spalding has expanded its Dubai office with the addition of RIZWAN KANJI as a partner in the firm’s debt capital markets and sukuk (Islamic bonds) practice. Formerly with Norton Rose, Kanji has advised on numerous international transactions, including the first Turkish sukuk in August–a $100 million offering by Kuveyt Turk Katilim Bankasi A.S.
