Sara Lee Corporation announced last Friday that the company will divide its food and beverage arms into two publicly-traded businesses, after failing to find an acceptable takeover offer.

Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom is advising the company on the deal, the firm announced on Tuesday, with a team led by Chicago-based M&A partners Rodd Schreiber and Susan Hassan and including Washington, D.C.-based tax partner Hal Hicks. Sara Lee’s interim general counsel is Paulette Dodson. She succeeded GC Brett Hart, who in November left to become general counsel of the new United Continental.
