The former inspector general for the City of Chicago has joined Sidley Austin as a partner in the firm’s litigation group. DAVID HOFFMAN held the independent, anticorruption position for the past four years. Prior to that, he served as an assistant U.S. attorney in Chicago for seven years.

At Sidley Austin, Hoffman will concentrate on complex commercial and financial litigation, as well as corporate counseling and internal investigations. “In every stage of his career, David has demonstrated exceptional talent, leadership, and integrity,” Thomas Cole, chairman of Sidley’s executive committee, said in a statement. “His skills as a trial lawyer will serve our clients well.”
