A federal judge in Michigan dismissed eight of nine counts in a discrimination and breach of contract lawsuit filed against Foley & Lardner by a founding partner of the firm’s Detroit office.

In March, Raymond J. Carey–a labor and employment partner who joined Foley from the Detroit office of Miller Canfield in 2000–filed the suit in U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Michigan, as we previously reported. It alleged that the firm has engaged in gender-, race-, and age-based discrimination against him. It also accused Foley of breach of contract, fraudulent misrepresentation, and other related claims.
