Japanese drugmaker Takeda Pharmaceutical announced on Thursday that it agreed to acquire Swiss rival Nycomed for roughly $13.7 billion in an effort to expand its presence in Europe and emerging markets.
Magic Circle firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is advising Nycomed. White & Case is counsel to Stockholm-based Nordic Capital, part of a private equity consortium of selling shareholders cashing out of their investment in the Zurich-based pharmaceutical company.
