Morrison & Foerster announced Tuesday that it has signed a lease to become the first tenant in an office tower now under construction at 250 West 55th Street in midtown Manhattan.

The firm’s new offices will be part of an environmentally friendly commerical and retail tower that is being developed by Boston Properties Inc. and is to include roughly 1 million square feet of usuable space across 40 stories. Under its 15-year lease, Morrison & Foerster will take over approximately 180,000 square feet on floors 17 to 23, with an expected move-in date in the spring of 2014.
