Barnes & Thornburg is expanding with the addition of one partner in its Chicago office and three partners and two of counsel in Los Angeles. In Chicago, MICHAEL CARRILLO, previously of Neal Gerber Eisenberg, joins Barnes’s intellectual property practice. The Los Angeles office is welcoming DAVID ALLEN as managing partner in the litigation practice; litigation partners PETER MORT and LEVI HEATH; and of counsel SIDNEY FOHRMAN and DAVID NELSON in the corporate and litigation practices, respectively. All five Los Angeles additions come from Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.

SUSAN LYON arrives at the Seattle office of Cooley as special counsel. She will also act as cochair of the firm’s privacy practice. Lyon specializes in international privacy and data security issues and was previously of counsel at Perkins Coie.
