LivingSocial, which trails only Groupon in the online discount marketplace, has agreed to buy South Korea’s Ticket Monster for an undisclosed sum in a deal that helps the company gain a foothold in Asia.

Debevoise & Plimpton M&A partner Kevin Rinker in New York is leading a team from the firm advising Washington, D.C.–based LivingSocial on the acquisition. Other Debevoise attorneys working on the matter include IP partner Jeffrey Cunard, tax partner Peter Furci, and employee benefits partner Jonathan Lewis. South Korea’s Shin & Kim is serving as local counsel to LivingSocial.
