Baker & Hostetler and Weil, Gotshal & Manges continue to reap substantial benefits from their work advising on the winding down of Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities and Lehman Brothers, respectively.

According to an August monthly operating report filed with the SEC this week, the defunct investment bank paid out another $34.6 million to outside professional advisers at law, accounting, and financial restructuring firms in August. Lehman’s total bankruptcy tab to outside advisers now stands just north of $1.4 billion.
