Our offices in lower Manhattan are sandwiched between the Federal Reserve Bank of New York to the north and the New York Stock Exchange to the south. To the west is Zuccotti Park. In September, dozens of protesters began camping out there to protest Wall Street greed, the big banks, cronyism, and economic inequality.

Every weekday at 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., the protesters march from the park to the stock exchange. My colleagues and I hear their drums, guitars, and tambourines as they mark Wall Street’s opening and closing bells.
