McGuireWoods is finally serious about expanding its litigation practice in New York, according to new partner LAURENT WIESEL, formerly an associate with Sullivan & Cromwell.

“I am the first new hire to sort of build the New York practice,” Wiesel told The Am Law Daily this week. The firm first launched in New York in 1999, but that office counted just seven lawyers four years later when McGuireWoods merged with Ross & Hardies, at the time a 155-lawyer Chicago firm with two dozen lawyers in New York.
