The U.S. IPO market endured a downward spiral along with the rest of the equity markets for much of 2011. Three companies completed IPO s of $1.8 billion or more in the year’s first quarter, but the largest new issue by a U.S. company since then was Air Lease Corp.’s $923 million offering in April, according to Dealogic, and there wasn’t a single new issue between August 16 and October 13. But in November, 17 companies completed new issues in which they raised a total of $3.5 billion, highlighted by the $700 million IPO of Groupon, Inc. [Big Deals]. Two foreign companies went public with issues of $1.4 billion last spring. Arcos Dorados Holdings Inc., a Latin American franchisee of McDonald’s Corporation, debuted on the New York Stock Exchange ( NYSE ), while Yandex N.V. , Russia’s answer to Google Inc., came out on Nasdaq. Below we list the advisers on those deals and four others. All underwriters are based in New York unless otherwise noted.
