A Mexican law that took effect last month has not only revolutionized the country’s legal system — it’s also generating work for U.S. and Mexican lawyers on both sides of the aisle.

As of March 1, Mexican citizens are now able to bring class action lawsuits. And while that’s welcome news to the country’s aggrieved consumers, it presents new challenges for Mexican firms that have little to no experience with these kinds of suits. As a result, U.S. litigators are working to help educate Mexican attorneys and clients about the implications of the new class action law.
