Securities and Exchange Commission attorney ANDREW MICHAELSON, who served as a special prosecutor investigating Galleon Group founder Raj Rajaratnam, will rejoin Boies, Schiller & Flexner as a white-collar defense and civil litigation partner.

Michaelson, 36, first joined Boies Schiller in 2003 as an associate and left for the SEC in 2007. As an SEC lawyer, Michaelson was credited with uncovering one of the key pieces of evidence used against the billionaire, who was convicted last year of multiple counts of conspiracy and securities fraud, and sentenced to 11 years in prison. Assigned to the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office during the Rajaratnam case, Michaelson contributed to the prosecution’s efforts by, among other things, interviewing and cross-examining witnesses.
