Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler saw its gross revenue creep up less than 1 percent to $175 million last year, while revenue per lawyer dropped 5.6 percent to $925,000 and profits per partner dipped about 2 percent to roughly $1.58 million, according to reporting by The American Lawyer.
Though slight, the topline growth was good enough to push Patterson Belknap’s gross revenue figure for 2011 past what the New York-based firm collected in a record-setting 2010. Adding 11 lawyers last year to keep up with an increasing workload helps explain why revenue per lawyer and profits per partner were down from last year’s highs.
