After enduring a flat year in 2010, Sidley Austin saw its gross revenue rise 5.6 percent to $1.41 billion last year, according to The American Lawyer’s reporting. The firm’s profts per partner, meanwhile, increased 9.6 percent to $1.6 million.
Sidley executive committee chairman Thomas Cole credits the gains to balanced growth across offices and practice groups, although he singles out the firm’s Palo Alto location for posting an almost 50 percent increase in revenue. The 21-lawyer office, which opened in 2009, aims to attract tech industry clients by leveraging Sidley’s Asian and Washington, D.C., practices.
