United Rentals, Inc., has come a long way since the devastating collapse of its planned 2007 buyout by Cerberus Capital Management.
The equipment rental giant-whose abandonment by Cerberus resulted in litigation that The American Lawyer detailed in this 2008 feature story (paid subscription)-has agreed to buy RSC Holdings, Inc., for about $1.87 billion in cash and stock and to assume some $2.3 billion in RSC debt, the companies announced Friday.
