Intellectual property partner RICHARD GILLY has joined Akerman Senterfitt‘s Washington, D.C., office. He represents clients in complex patent infringement litigation and various patent disputes. He was formerly a partner with Winston & Strawn.

PAUL LIN and KEVIN MCBRIDE have moved to Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld‘s Los Angeles office as partners in the corporate and intellectual property litigation practices, respectively. Both lawyers come to Akin Gump from Jones Day. Lin’s practice is focused on clients in the technology and consumer electronics industries. McBride specializes in patent and other intellectual property litigation.

DAVID LORELLO has jumped to Covington & Burling as a partner in the firm’s London anticorruption and international trade and finance groups. Lorello advises clients on international regulatory and commercial matters under both European and U.S. laws. He was formerly at Steptoe & Johnson.

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has hired TOMER PINKUSIEWICZ as a partner in its New York office. Pinkusiewicz, who was previously at White & Case, will continue his capital markets practice with a focus on project bonds and infrastructure.

Hogan Lovells has expanded its litigation, arbitration, and employment practice group with the addition of insurance partner VANESSA WELLS in Silicon Valley. Wells, a litigator, represents insurance companies in complex litigation in California. She specializes in pricing issues, business regulation matters, and unfair competition disputes. She was formerly at Sedgwick in San Francisco.

LORYN DUNN ARKOW has joined the Los Angeles office of Kelley Drye & Warren as a partner in the real estate practice group. Arkow was previously a partner at Cox, Castle & Nicholson in Los Angeles. She handles a broad range of acquisitions and development transactions, as well as joint ventures, lending, and recapitalizations.

Latham & Watkins now counts CASEY FLECK as a corporate partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Fleck specializes in corporate transactions, including public and private securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions. He comes to the firm from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

McGuireWoods has hired CANDACE BLYDENBURGH as a partner in the firm’s toxic tort and environmental litigation practice in Richmond. Blydenburgh, formerly with Bowman and Brooke, handles all aspects of litigation involving toxic exposure, product liability, and matters of negligence.

MARK STAMP has moved to Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in London from Linklaters. Stamp, an M&A partner, will work in the firm’s global corporate practice, advising both public and private companies across numerous industry sectors.

Health care partner JILL GORDON has jumped to Nixon Peabody’s Los Angeles office. Gordon was previously vice-chair of Davis Wright Tremaine’s health law practice. She primarily represents hospitals, long-term care facilities, medical groups, accountable care organizations, and others in the health care industry.

Quarles & Brady has announced the addition of two partners, LARRY COTE and CHRISTINE FISHER. Cote, who joins the firm’s Washington, D.C., health law group, was formerly the associate chief counsel for the Drug Enforcement Administration’s diversion and regulatory litigation section. Fisher will work in the firm’s Chicago real estate group. She was previously a partner at SNR Denton. She represents major institutional lenders in bridge, construction, permanent loans, and loan workouts.

Steptoe & Johnson has hired BRIGIDA BENITEZ as a partner in its international regulation and compliance and commercial litigation practices in Washington, D.C. Benitez focuses on high-stakes dispute resolution, including international litigation and arbitration, and internal investigations and anticorruption issues, with an emphasis on Latin America. She most recently served as chief of the Office of Institutional Integrity of the Inter-American Development Bank.
