UPDATE: 8/7/12, 12:00 p.m., EDT. An agreement has been reached on the $800 million sale of the San Diego Padres to a group led by local businessman Ron Fowler and the nephews and children of former Los Angeles Dodgers owner Peter O’Malley. Major League Baseball must still approve the proposed transaction, which Bloomberg reports includes a 21 percent stake in the regional sports network Fox Sports San Diego.
OMelveny & Myers, which once helped bring the Dodgers from Brooklyn to Los Angeles, is taking the lead on the proposed $800 million sale of Major League Baseballs San Diego Padres to a group led by former Dodgers owner Peter OMalley.
