Southern District Judge Leonard Sand (See Profile) on July 17 denied a motion to strike all class claims in a high-profile discrimination case against Goldman, Sachs & Co., allowing the case to proceed as a proposed class action.

However, the judge ruled in Chen-Oster v. Goldman Sachs & Co., 10 Civ. 6950, that the U.S. Supreme Court’s opinion in Wal-mart v. Dukes, 131 S. Ct. 2541, barred the plaintiffs’ class claims for declaratory and injunctive relief.
