Jones Day Resuscitates Human Gene Patent--Again--at Federal Circuit

After the Supreme Court vacated a ruling for Myriad Genetics and put Myriad's controversial human gene patents in limbo, it fell to Gregory Castanias of Jones Day to try to salvage the company's IP. Castanias mostly pulled it off on Thursday, convincing the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit for the second time that isolated human genes and Myriad's DNA-based cancer screening method are patentable.
