Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr announced that a high-ranking official at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) will join the firm’s ranks next month.

STEPHEN LUPARELLO, vice-chairman of FINRA, will be a partner in Washington, D.C., in the firm’s broker-dealer and securities litigation and enforcement practices. At FINRA, which regulates securities firms, Luparello handled programs related to examination, enforcement, market regulation, and other matters. He has also served as senior and executive vice president of market regulation at FINRA’s predecessor, NASD Regulation, and has held senior-level positions at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
