Birmingham-based Balch & Bingham is expanding into Florida through a merger with six-attorney banking and transactional firm Stoneburner Berry Glocker Purcell & Greenhut.
Balch & Bingham chair Alan Rogers said in an interview Tuesday that a banking client, which he declined to name, actually introduced the two firms back in February and pitched both sides on why the combination would be good for business. “It is just absolutely delightful to hear a client make that recommendation,” Rogers says, “because searching for partners in the legal field can be very, very time consuming and difficult.”
