Lawyers from Cravath, Swaine & Moore and leading Australian firm Corrs Chambers Westgarth are representing U.S. agribusiness conglomerate Archer-Daniels-Midland on its $2.77 billion takeover bid for Sydney-based rival GrainCorp., which is being advised by Gilbert + Tobin. ADM recently increased its stake in the target to nearly 15 percent.

Australia’s abundant natural resources have fueled an M&A boom in the country that has lured financial services giants and the global law firms that cater to multinational companies. The country’s local legal shops have benefited as well.
