That was the case for Silicon Valley rivals Brocade Communications Systems Inc. and A10 Networks Inc., which reached a settlement in their long-running intellectual property spat even as jury selection was underway for a new trial on damages.
More than 30 prospective jurors assembled in San Jose federal court Monday and were sworn in for voir dire in a case that previously resulted in a $112 million jury verdict in Brocade’s favor. The companies’ high-profile attorneys told U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul Grewal that they had a deal during the lunch break.
