The Securities and Exchange Commission has filed a lawsuit in the Southern District of New York in an attempt to force the House Ways and Means Committee and a top House health care aide to hand over documents for which the agency has issued subpoenas, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The subpoenas were issued to the House committee and to aide Brian Sutter as part of a long-running investigation by the SEC and federal law enforcement officials into whether congressional staff provided tips to Wall Street traders on a change in health care policy.
