The Securities and Exchange Commission has named Alberto Arevalo as an associate director in the Office of International Affairs. In his new role, Arevalo will oversee international enforcement, supervisory cooperation and technical assistance programs.

Arevalo joined the SEC in 2004. Since 2012 he has held the position of chief of OIA’s international cooperation and technical assistance programs. In this role he has worked with regulators outside the U.S., helping to expand the reach of the Commission’s cross-border enforcement efforts. He has also contributed to strengthening the agency’s ability to oversee globally active organizations.
