A unit of hedge fund Citadel LLC was hit with an $800,000 fine by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority in June for allegedly failing to prevent erroneous orders from being sent to stock exchanges, according to a letter sent by the regulator to the firm and viewed by Reuters on Tuesday.

Citadel does not admit or deny wrongdoing, Reuters said.
