U.S. banana producer Chiquita Brands International Inc. and its Irish competitor Fyffes said that they are participating in discussions with the European Commission about possible concessions in order to obtain approval for their proposed merger.
The companies did not provide specific details on the nature of the concessions they offered the European regulators.
