The National Football League’s reputation may have taken hits over the past few weeks, but two Am Law 100 firms are helping its bottom line get bigger.

DirecTV and the NFL confirmed this week an eight-year extension of a Sunday Ticket television package slated to expire after the season. While terms of the deal were not disclosed, numerous media outlets put the total value at $12 billion, which will see $1.5 billion flow from the satellite broadcaster into the league’s coffers each year over the life of the contract.
