Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom started off the week by landing roles on two big deals totaling $6.9 billion.

The firm represented longtime client Permira Advisers on its $3.5 billion sale of Norwalk, Conn.-based pesticide maker Arysta LifeScience Ltd. to Platform Specialty Products. It also advised British Columbia Investment Management Corporation as it partnered with Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets to lead an investory group on the purchase of electric utility Cleco Power for $3.4 billion.
