Latham & Watkins made one of the year’s biggest bulk lateral hires Tuesday by bringing on a high-powered team of O’Melveny & Myers sports, media and entertainment partners led by CHRISTOPHER BREARTON, NANCY BRUINGTON, JOSEPH CALABRESE, KENNETH DEUTSCH, ROBERT HAYMER and LISBETH SAVILL.
All are based in Los Angeles, save for Savill, who works out of London. Brearton, who serves as the managing partner of O’Melveny’s Century City office, is a veteran Hollywood dealmaker, as are Calabrese and Haymer. The trio have handled a bevy of notable sports, media and entertainment transactions involving clients like the International Olympic Committee and the owners of Major League Baseball’s San Diego Padres and the National Basketball Association’s Memphis Grizzlies. (Brearton once carried the Olympic torch before the Vancouver Winter Games in 2010.)
