A little more than a year after Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz executive committee cochair Daniel Neff led a team from the firm advising Verizon on its mammoth $130 billion acquisition of Verizon Wireless—a deal honored at The American Lawyer’s recent Global Legal Awards—the firm snagged itself another $100 billion day.
Neff led Wachtell teams working on two blockbuster deals Monday, advising Halliburton on its $34.6 billion cash-and-stock takeover of oilfield services rival Baker Hughes and Allergan on its proposed $66 billion cash-and-stock sale to fellow pharmaceutical company Actavis.
