Lawyers love their lists—or so we hear—and more than a few with Am Law 200 ties appear on annual compilations of dealmakers and powerbrokers by entertainment industry trade publications like The Hollywood Reporter, Variety and SportsBusiness Journal.

Topping the “50 Most Influential” rankings touted by the SBJ, which as one might expect covers the sports industry, is National Basketball Association commissioner Adam Silver, a former Cravath, Swaine & Moore associate profiled by Sports Illustrated earlier this year as he took over his league’s top job. Silver, a recent advocate in favor of regulated sports betting, is also the son of late Proskauer Rose chairman Edward Silver.
