JAMES SCHWAB, chair of the media and entertainment practice at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York, is looking to become the latest top partner at the firm to make it big in the business world.

Vice Media, a growing media company with an eye on new financial opportunities, confirmed Monday that Schwab would come aboard as its new copresident. Vice has already gained the attention of media magnate Rupert Murdoch’s 21st Century Fox, which last year paid $70 million for a 5 percent stake in the company, whose general counsel is Jonathan Lutzky.
