After reviewing $178 million in fee requests from attorneys and consultants who worked on Detroit’s bankruptcy, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes has ruled that the amount is reasonable considering the complexity of the proceedings and the success of the case.
“The city is now on a path to success precisely because of the expertise, skill, commitment, endurance, personal sacrifice, civility and proficiency of all of the professionals in the case, including most certainly those whose fees are subject to review in this opinion,” Rhodes wrote in his opinion Thursday.
