One of the most highly anticipated trials in the legal industry began Monday with over 100 potential jurors filling out questionnaires to determine whether they can sit for what’s expected to be a lengthy proceeding against three former executives of now-defunct Dewey & LeBoeuf.

Defendants in the trial—former chairman Steven Davis, former executive director Stephen DiCarmine and former chief financial officer Joel Sanders—face about 100 criminal charges, including accusations of scheming to defraud, grand larceny, falsifying business records and conspiracy in the lead-up to the 1,300-lawyer firm’s spectacular collapse in May 2012. All three have pleaded not guilty.
