Reed Smith has lured longtime Shearman & Sterling partner Danielle Carbone to lead its U.S. capital markets practice. Carbone will be based in the firm’s New York office and will serve as a partner in the firm’s corporate and transactional advisory group. Monday was her first official day at the firm.

Carbone’s move follows the July departure of Reed Smith’s previous head of U.S. capital markets, Yvan-Claude Pierre, to Cooley. New York-based partners Daniel Goldberg and William Haddad, along with San Francisco-based partner Garth Osterman, left Reed Smith for Cooley along with Pierre. (The quartet joined Reed Smith from DLA Piper in 2011.)
