Was 2015 the year Latham & Watkins finally fell back to Earth? A superficial look at the numbers might suggest so. But a deeper dive yields no schadenfreude for Latham’s rivals.
Last year’s Am Law 100 leader squeezed out a revenue increase of about 1.5 percent, to $2.65 billion, after surging 14 percent in 2014. Profits per partner stayed roughly flat at about $2.9 million, and revenue per lawyer decreased slightly to $1.2 million, thanks to a cool second half for deals.
