A handful of notable big firm partners left their respective shops in recent months to take notable in-house legal roles.

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett capital markets partner LEIMING CHEN in Hong Kong announced this week that he would leave the venerable Am Law 100 firm to join longtime client Alibaba Group Holdings Ltd.’s Ant Financial Services Group as its new general counsel, according to sibling publication The Asian Lawyer. Ant Financial, the mysterious finance arm of the Chinese e-commerce giant, is looking to go public sometime this year.
