Demand for legal services has remained tight in the past few years, and consultants predicted that law firms would average less than 5 percent growth in gross revenue for 2015. But some of Pennsylvania’s Am Law 100 firms far outpaced that figure, and a few even set records.

Often the increases were achieved without boosting head count, meaning that gains in rates and productivity, and in some cases contingency fees, drove that growth. Many Pennsylvania firms cited real estate practices as being strong in 2015, and several expressed pleasant surprise that their litigation practices were busier than anticipated.
