Mariah Klinefelter, a labor and employment associate at Steptoe & Johnson PLLC outside Pittsburgh, was killed Friday after she and her infant son were struck by an SUV in Port Charlotte, Florida.
No charges have been filed against the driver of the SUV, which struck Klinefelter as she was taking a 7 a.m. stroll with her 5-month-old son, Noah. There are no sidewalks on the road where the accident occurred, and Klinefelter was pushing her child in a stroller when she was hit, according to local news reports. The reports noted that the 35-year-old lawyer was in the area for a vacation on nearby Captiva Island with her husband and another son, age 2.
