Three mergers in one year proved to be a mixed bag for Cincinnati’s Dinsmore & Shohl, which saw its gross revenue grow in 2015, while profits per partner and revenue per lawyer slipped.
Dinsmore gobbled up three small firms last year: West Virginia’s Huddleston Bolen in January, Michigan’s Gifford, Krass, Sprinkle, Anderson & Citkowski in September and San Diego’s Leventhal Law in November. The acquisitions increased head count by 13.7 percent, to 504, setting the stage for a 12.3 percent increase in gross revenue, to $219.5 million.
