A former Jones Day business development and communications manager in New York, Cortney Nathanson, is suing the firm over claims that she was laid off because of her pregnancy, age and gender.
Nathanson, who was 44 when she left Jones Day last year, had worked for the firm for 13 years, according a complaint filed Wednesday in U.S. district court in Manhattan. The suit says she handled client proposals, events, client research, lawyer coaching, employee training and public relations as the sole business development and communications manager in the firm’s New York office.
