Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, under new leadership and fresh off a successful financial year in 2015, has made several notable hires within the past few weeks.

The firm confirmed Tuesday its addition of Silicon Valley litigation veteran JAMES POOLEY, a former deputy director of the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, as senior counsel in Menlo Park, California. The Recorder, a sibling publication, reported that Poole joined the firm as senior counsel from his own shop in the city. Orrick also added Schulte Roth & Zabel partner MARSHALL BROZOST to head its real estate group in New York, where he joined his former firm in May 2012 from now-defunct Dewey & LeBoeuf.
