While Mergermarket reports that global M&A activity is down 26.6 percent to a total value of $1.32 trillion in the first half of 2016—largely due to Brexit and the impending U.S. presidential election—White & Case has found reason to celebrate.

According to league tables compiled by Bloomberg and Mergermarket, the firm ranked first in terms of deal value for M&A work announced in the first half of this year, totaling $271 billion and $291 billion in value, respectively. Simpson Thacher & Bartlett snagged the No. 2 spot in Mergermarket’s tables, which saw Davis Polk & Wardwell roll into third. Bloomberg’s rankings saw Sullivan & Cromwell take Simpson Thacher’s second-place spot, while Davis Polk once again came in third.
