With India’s legal market inching closer to liberalization, the subcontinent could provide a shot of cross-border transactional work to global firms reeling from Brexit and an economic slowdown in China.

The first half of 2016 saw U.S. firms beat out their British brethren to grab roles on the largest M&A deals originating from India, according to Legally India. DLA Piper, Shearman & Sterling and White & Case captured the largest volume of those transactions, along with London-based legal giant Allen & Overy.
